1868. The following lectures were prepared under somewhat peculiar
circumstances and were not originally intended for publication. The
author devoted his idle time to writing short pencil sketches,
illustrative of Masonic symbols. He learned from the useful
instructions portrayed by these symbols that it was only through
application, industry, and perseverance in the pursuit of this
object, they he was able to attain his desires. These lectures are
devoted exclusively to the first three Degrees in Masonry,
denominated by the Symbolic Degrees.
