The first detailed account of the early history of legal education
in New Zealand, this study draws on historical material--and a rich
variety of recollections from former staff and students--to explore
the sometimes turbulent first 100 years of the law school at
Canterbury University. The discussion also provides new data on the
ebbs and flows in the popularity of law as a career choice in New
Zealand during this time.
