Dear Joe Boy: Story of a Mother's Love explores and included
letters written by an Indiana mother to her son during WWII. He was
stationed on a secret project in the Manaus Island in the Pacific
theatre. Many service members wrote letters home and many of those
letters survive. This story is unique because the letters were sent
from a small Indiana community, into harm's way and they made their
way back home with the sailor. Importantly, the letters then
survived 70 years in an Indiana barn before they were rediscovered.
This is a very personal story and readers will have a chance to
read original letters' transcriptions.
