John N. Brittain currently serves as Chaplain at the University of Evansville, Indiana, where many of these sermons were originally preached. A "magna cum laude "graduate of Brown University, he has also earned degrees from Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio (M.Div.) and St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland (D.Min.). The author of numerous publications, Brittain is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Society of the Study of Christian Spirituality as well as various professional organizations.
