A group of men find a wild, virgin site in New Jersey near which
soldiers of George Washington's army camped during the Revolution.
They have a vision of building a beautifull cemetery on the site as
an important community project, but have little resources. They are
swept up in the new concept of Memorial Parks as a cemetery plan
and decide to creat a cemetery rich in natural beauty, accentuated
with notable works of art. Their struggle to accomplish their goal
is told through the history of the cemetery's annual reports to
their association members. How to build a cemetery? Who are the
people who operate them, and what they mean to the millions who
visit them every day? This book will give you the answers.
