Rowland collates a huge amount of information and evidence,
discussing and describing the major sites, research, different
types of artefactual evidence (ceramics, metalwork, architecture,
figurines) as well as evidence for religion, subsistence, politics
and settlement. With an extensive bibliography, text notes and
distribution maps of sites, this is a good reference source with
limited interpretation. The illustrations are of poor quality.
