Excess heat is sure to kill it!

It's a great grinder for the price and I enjoyed mine whilst it lasted, unfortunately, I did not consider that excess heat would warp the plastic and render it useless.
So if you are wanting to grind large volumes of bean, make sure to give your machine a break to let the burrs cool down, those babies get really hot getting your beans to a usable grind.
If your's dies I'd recommend a manual grinder like the Porlex mini.

Great burr grinder for home use
Sat, 13 May 2017 | Review

I just bought my second one of these because I decided I'm posh enough to have a second grinder for decaff beans.
Let's be real. This grinder has issues. It has safety features that stop the grind if the lid isn't on just right, or if the bin isn't all the way in, and every now and then you have to give it a slap to get the beans running through the mill again. And f you're looking for a cheap grinder to use in your hipster coffee shop, this is not for you - it will totally overheat and die if you try to run it 24/7.
But none of that matters, because this is a grinder for your kitchen. The grind it produces is excellent, and you can set it based on whether you're making espresso or stovetop or whatever. It will make enough for 8 cups or so in a single run without breaking a sweat. For home use, you will not find a burr grinder that offers better value at this price point.

good while it lasts

This grinder is perfect until the switch breaks off. Which it will do, in only a matter of time. Read the external reviews. If you are lucky it will last 2 years (until the warranty expires that is...)
Once the switch is broken that's it - can't be repaired, so its kaput.

My friend is on his second one & live it. Was going to buy it but then it was sild out. My observation is: price when in stock R1149, when out of stock sub R600. Recon thats just wrong. Not impressed with this seller with those type of games!

Had my previous one now for 10 years. Replaced the boroken button twice at place in Goodwood Cape town. After 10 years the safty switches that stop the grind when the lid is off no longer get pushed when the lid is on, so it does not always want to grind. Time for a new one.
