A ne-er-do-well descendant of a Territorial New Mexico governor
goes in search of legendary civil war era treasure supposedly
hidden near the town of Socorro. Benton Connely and his friends are
soon suspected of murder. Sherrif George Martinez, a passionate
cop, is sure he's got his man and makes life difficult for Benton
until Benton gets help from Reyna Yazzi, a Navajo woman from the
Alamo Band reservation. Before the treasure hunting can continue
crimes must be resolved and Benton and Reyna must also closely
examine the civil war history of New Mexico and the darker chapters
of their own lives.
