Review This Product

I am disappointed . I expected more from a high-end Logitech desktop This keyboard does the basics right (typing) and misses the target on a lot of other things.
I'll start with the negative items and follow with the positive.
"Wake" from "sleep" mode , does not work correctly . In stead of "waking" the PC, it flashes an led on the white keys to indicate there is activity on "channel #1" . Really ? I know I am typing on device #1. There is only one PC connected to the keyboard. I don't mind the blinking lights. Just wake up the PC too, please.
All the special keys ( Volume up/down/calculator/etc) were dedicated keys on previous Logitech premium desktops but must be accessed via the "FN" key on this one. This is a minor irritation . I can live with it , but I expected better considering that this is supposed to be a premium desktop.
Another negative . All Logitech keyboards that I've worked with, group the function keys in blocks of 4. Its a minor feature but its a useful optical guide. This keyboard lumps all the function keys in one block with no spacing, consequently you have to double-check the label to make sure F4 is really F4 and not F3 or F5.
The left "FN" key is awkwardly placed. Why is it there at all ? Surely the oversized "FN" key on the right is enough ...?
Aesthetics:
Three bone white keys on a black keyboard ?! I can live with it , but its ugly and I can see absolutely no logical reason for the colour disaster. An identifying label would have been fine . Or at least use a slightly lighter shade of charcoa.l. But white !!! ?
The "Backspace" key is now just "Back" Why ? Logitech could have fitted the full name on the key as they do on other keyboards. Its just cosmetic, but why scratch where it doesn't itch ?
The good:
1) Unifying receiver. I have several compatible devices , therefore the unifying receiver was a key consideration.
2) I like the mouse. The hyperscrolling feature is extremeely useful. Its a pity Logitech does not build this into all their mice..
3) Being able to switch the same mouse between different PC's is also useful.
4) I love the typing action of the keyboard . The key travel and tactile feedback is perfect.
Summary :
Its not a bad product, but its a disppointment compared to previous Logitech premium desktops like the MK710. Logitech had the magic formula ! Why did they break it ?
