powerful fictional account of a school shooting is important in its

Predictable

Considering this was one of my most anticipated books, the disappointment I felt is possibly due to a large extent the hype.
It is a good solid story, good writing and characters.
But it was predictable and the gut-wrenching horror I expected to feel just didn't impact.
The story lacked the something special that gives a book zing and takes it from good to great.
