Clink is a satirical novel about the people who run prisons.
Following the death of a prisoner who has vanished into
administrative limbo, the governor finds an investigation is
underway, led by a man who has reason to hate him. Others are
jostling for position; the medical officer, deputy governor (who
wants his bosses job) and junior staff trying to survive. Meanwhile
bodies are being exhumed, a Satanist is plotting and a prisoner is
carrying out an important burglary for management. Will the
governor survive the internal and external threats and can the
prison manage to get through another day?
