In der Arbeit geht es um den Umgang mit Bev lkerungsr ckg ngen in ostdeutschen Gro wohnsiedlungen anhand der beispielhaften Darstellung in Halle-Silberh he. Der Stadtteil hat die gr ten Bev lkerungsr ckg nge zu beklagen, zahlreiche Abrisse wurden im Rahmen des Programms Stadtumbau-Ost vorgenommen. Zudem hat der Stadtteil eine mehrheitlich sozial schwache Bev lkerung vorzuweisen. In der Arbeit werden insbesondere die Kooperationsstrukturen im Stadtumbau und die Problemlagen der B rger vor Ort auf Basis von qualitativen Interviews und einer B rgerbefragung untersucht. Au erdem werden immer auch Bez ge auf die zuk nftige Entwicklung des Stadtteils hergestellt, der heute unter dem Motto "Waldstadt Silberh he" steht und morgen ein Stadtwald sein k nnte.
