Trevor Coltrain is determined to make his first summer after
University meaningful despite living in the suburban community of
Paterson, Ontario. Through the encouragement of his best friend,
Thom, and girlfriend, Carolina, Trevor sets out to record "the most
rock and roll record since Dig Lazarus Dig." I'm Not There follows
the sole perspective of Trevor as he works towards completing his
goal. Trevor is a reluctant narrator- He won't share more than he
needs to, and even that might not be enough. But every person is a
mystery, and Trevor is no different. His decision to record an
album, and his following choices, are complex. Such is life.
