Migration is an unavoidable continuous process from the very
beginning of civilization which has been considered as an important
livelihood strategy for both rural and urban population. It also
plays an important role (positive or negative) in the development
of any country. In developing countries like Bangladesh, migration
to cities creates more hazards in development. So, it is important
to assess the socio-economic conditions of migrants and their
causes. This study focuses this issue and recommends some policy
which plays an important role for further advanced research.
Clearly, it would be very helpful for policy makers, program
designers to design or redesign programs or existing programs
considering the identified risk factor of migration to cities in
Bangladesh.
