The Meteorological Office or Met Office is the UK's national meteorological service, and is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defense. It also provides advice services on the weather and the natural environment for other national meteorological and hydrological services, governments and private sector companies around the world. This is the agency's annual report for 2005-06, during which period it met all of its key performance targets; published the first long-range winter forecast in Autumn 2005; contributed to the Stern Review on the economic challenges of climate change, and published its five-year Corporate Plan.
