When Sheila and Andrew Campbell move into Pine Tree Cottage in the
remote Scottish Highlands and escape Sheila's nagging mother, the
only thing missing from their dream is the patter of tiny feet. But
as time passes it seems they can't have children and their
rock-solid relationship shows cracks. And when a pretty young
barmaid shows rather more interest in Andrew than she should, the
cracks deepen. All seems lost for Andrew and Sheila when Morag, the
barmaid, is found murdered. With Andrew one of the prime suspects,
a chain of events is set in motion that will have disastrous
consequences - not just for the Campbells, but for the future
owners of Pine Tree Cottage too.
