Introduction to the Book: The Book is "Taxonomy & Pharmaceutics
of Medicinal Plants of China (CLEMATIS)" describes taxonomical
analysis of genus Clematis using different approaches such as
Taximetrics, Chemotaxonomy (by HPLC, HPLC-MS-MS), and Proteomics
(2-DE; MALDI-TOF-MS). Approach Proteomics has unraveled novel
proteins from the genus which are first time reported from these
species and which related to evolutionary trend (from herbs to
liana) of taxa. Some other reported proteins in Clematis species
are directly relevant to the production of chemical constituents
which possess anti-cancer activity and harbor vital role in medical
science arena. The 2nd part describes about Pharmaceutics of taxa
of the genus. Clematis plants are rich source of Traditional
Chinese Medicines (TCMs) in China and around the globe. Protocols
are developed and optimized for various TCMs at par with
international pharmacopeia standards.The book is very important for
students, nature lovers, biotechnologist, herbalist and
taxonomists.
