This latest full colour book by Murray is a visual feast, and
features profiles of players from the Golden Years of Aussie
tennis. It is illustrated in both caricature and formal mode with
informative bios of individual players. The great players are
depicted, from Norman Brookes of 1905 vintage, stars of the 1920s
and 1930s: Crawford, Quist, Bromwich and many others. In the post
war era, we have other greats: Sedgman, Rosewall, Hoad. Laver,
Newcombe and Roche, Grand Slam winners and Davis Cup stalwarts. Our
two lady champions are also featured, Margaret Court and Evonne
Goolagong, presenting an era when Australia maintained a worthy
place in international tennis.
