Volume VIII of the Flora of Russia contains the description of the
subfamily Cichorioideae of the large family of the composites
(Asteraceae), which includes 33 genera and 945 species. Both wild
and important introduced plants of this subfamily, found in the
European part of Russia and bordering regions, are described,
including information about their taxonomy, habitat conditions, and
chromosome numbers
