the spotlight with Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, 'Big Bill' Haywood, and
Emma Goldman. A charismatic Italian anarchist who became a folk
hero to immigrant and native-born workers alike, Tresca was
described by comrades as a 'freelance revolutionary' because of his
