GIOTTO hat sich bis auf 600 km dem Kometen Halley genahert, wurde dabei beschadigt, von der Erde aus repariert und hat danach noch den Kometen Grigg-Skjellerup besucht.
Das Buch fuhrt den Leser durch alle Fehlschlage und die glanzvollen Erfolge dieser internationalen Zusammenarbeit unter der Leitung der ESA.
Der Autor geht auch auf das ROSETTA-Projekt ein, das derzeit in Vorbereitung ist.
Der Ubersetzer hat in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Autor und den wissenschaftlichen Projektleitern bei der ESA den Text fur die deutsche Ausgabe aktualisiert und erganzt.
