adopt him but she is too young.. Jedidiah can and after he marries
Julie, Matthew is adopted. Jedidiah discovers he has a disease that
will cripple him and wants to send Julie away so she will not get
this disease but she refuses to go. Later they have three sons, but
the third son has this same disease. He will never walk and is in a
wheelchair. Jedidiah is captured by rebels rescued by the Wild
Tribe and nearly dies before he is taken to the mission hospital.
Julie and Matthew go to Guatemala to bring him home, but find that
he is given a girl from the wild tribe who cannot return home until
she is pregnant. Jedidiah refuses her. The book ends with Jedidiah
