Over the last few years, the use of pallets as a building material
has increased dramatically - they are now regularly used in
furniture design, interior design, temporary installations and even
emergency housing. Not only are pallets an easy to obtain material
- they are available virtually anywhere in the world - they are
also easy to handle and have a unique and expressive aesthetic.
Pallet Project brings together twenty fully realised pallet-based
construction projects from around the world, showcasing the unique
ways in which architects and designers have utilised this versatile
material. Each project is accompanied by full-colour photography,
detailed architectural renders and illustrations, and a brief text
which explores the inspiration behind the project, the challenges
it faced, and the final construction.
