It arrived a week earlier than planned, which was a pleasant surprise. I haven't used an electric blanket in about 20 years. My wife *never* has, so she was particularly apprehensive about getting one and trying it out, but this winter's been particularly cold in Johannesburg, so she let us buy one. We were worried we wouldn't be able to fit it under our mattress protector and fitted sheet, but it works beautifully. And the heating is a-maze-ing! Put it on "3" an hour before bed, cover it up, and by the time you climb in it's toasty warm. You can leave it on the number "1" setting all night if you choose, but it gets so warm, we decided to switch it off as we got in bed. It was still warm by the time we fell asleep, which is all you want, really. There aren't very clear instructions which way is "up", though. But we figured it out: the fluffy side with the power ports go on top. That wasn't immediately obvious to us.
