After visiting an oracle who predicts his future, Vagualame, the
narrator of this dreamlike tale, falls ill and must recuperate in a
Swiss sanatorium. While there, he begins to imagine the future that
has been predicted for him, but his imagination has been altered by
illness-induced delirium. Recurring to magic and fantasy, this
absurd and surreal novel is full of characters that appear out of
nowhere, only to disappear on the next page. "Luego de visitar un
