1886. Collection of verse by Browning whose selection was to supply
an introduction to the study of the poet for the benefit of the
readers of the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle; but it is
also hoped that others who need assistance in the study of a
difficult author may find help in this little book. The selection
has been arranged on the principle of beginning with that which is
simple, and proceeding gradually to the more complex, with some
regard also to variety and progress in subject, and at the same
time to appropriateness for the use of those younger readers for
whom this selection mainly is intended. Partial Contents: Home
Thoughts, From Abroad; Echetlos; Shop; Love Among the Ruins; Evelyn
Hope; Good, to Forgive; Popularity; The Guardian Angel; Deaf and
Dumb; Saul; and Easter-Day. See other titles by this author
