Most of the Porter family members who knew about the incident of the late 1600's, characterized the perpetrator as a witch. It seemed appropriate because uncommon things have been happening to the Porter men since then. Jonathon Porter III is among the few living souls who knows of the whispered occurrence many years ago, but does not consider himself to be in any danger. Jonathon Benjamin Porter III, a successful advertising executive, leads a risky lifestyle in contrast to his responsible position as a family man and civic leader in the City of Newman. The Porter family has lived in New England since the seventeenth century; and, although each generation of the family had produced successful men and women, family elders still worried about the perceived curse that manifested periodically. Jon's behavior and experience indicates that he might be the next to join the historic record of those afflicted. Incidents at a Gentlemen's Club, a two-year affair with a female high-school classmate and a dangerous, unexpected brush with a pack of dogs begin to take their toll on Jon. While making an emotional confession to his minister, Jon raises the question of whether or not average people can unwittingly become involved in a clash between Good and Evil. Written as a series of short stories, the reader will find ghosts, a psychic, a hellhound and a mysterious ex-con with a tattoo on his forearm inhabiting the chapters of this book. Is there a struggle between Good and Evil going on around us all the time? In "Locusts and Wild Honey," the answer is yes.
