This collection of short stories begins with a tale plucked from my
childhood memories called "The Stranger," which depicts a child's
loss of innocence during the 1960's civil rights movement. An
atemporal fantasy titled "The Centaurian Eaters," deals with the
always current issues of trendiness and addiction in society.
."com/treehouse," is a satirical ghost story that pokes fun at
society's infatuation with the Internet. "Nora And Her Child"
unveils the violent secrets behind what appears to be a happy
marriage. A controlling mother pushes her own aspirations onto her
sheltered, naive daughter in a domestic drama titled "He'll Call."
"The Independence of Saura," an anthropomorphic parable, tells the
epic adventure of a woman's attempt to recapture her wayward small
intestine. And lastly, giving this collection its title, "Ruby And
The Tree House" is a coming-of-age, non-linear fantasy about an
interracial family who spends their summers living in a mystical
tree house.
