account of the history of Muslim presence in central and northern
Tyrrhenian Sea in the High Middle Ages, 8th to 10th century. The
final chapters discuss the town of Noba Leopolis in some detail,
followed by a general synthesis of the history of Muslim occupation
and of the topographical research upon which this study is based.
