Jamey Leary lives in his right brain. Always has. Imagination is
reality of choice. As he passes through mid life he is both
thankful for his blessings and sadly aware that he is as tortured
and overwhelmed as he was at twenty. A good day is one not drowned
by the din of sensation, information and expectation no one else
seems to hear. Remembering is not simply a theme in Jamey's story
but a ribbon running through his life. Almost connected vignettes
move us with him through the seasons, forward and backward in time.
Sentimental snapshots, odd observations and quirky conversations
with friends and lovers give us some insight into this disheartened
romantic and help him learn about himself. But ultimately there is
no transformative epiphany - only the continuing trek of one
survivor attempting to make sense out of his time here and yearning
in his dearest dreams to be a mover of souls and a healer of
hearts.
