the nobility, the hermaphrodite, and the sodomite. The book begins
with a reading of this brand of masculinity in Aristotle and then
proceeds to textual analyses of canonical and non-canonical writers
of the Renaissance, such as Rabelais, Montaigne, Erasmus, Lery, and
Artus.
