Yacht owner and author NICK ANDREWS is approached by an
octogenarian, JACOB MARKIN to accompany him to Baghdad, Iraq to
open a business during the on-going Iraq war. During the course of
their conversations, Markin reveals interesting details of his
life's history, beginning prior to World War II and continuing to
the present. Each chapter reveals further information about
Markin's life and the developing friendship between the two men.
Markin has captained ships during three wars, had shady dealings in
diamonds and jade, owned a farm in Zimbabwe, owned yachts, sold
encyclopedias, antiques, art works and quickie divorces, escaped
death on a few occasions and practiced international and maritime
law on every continent in the world.
