Cartridge paper takes its name from the now-defunct practice of wrapping gunpowder in parcels of smooth paper. It is a surface which is best suited to drawing with pencils, technical pens, graphite, charcoal or pen and ink.This is an A4 gummed pad of cartridge paper with a smooth surface which makes it well suited to detailed drawing in pencil or pen-and-ink. The paper is 220 gsm, which is heavy enough to withstand repeated erasing without marked deterioration of the surface.
