Originally published in 1946, as the second edition of a 1936
original, this dynamic textbook is a companion volume to Ramsey's
earlier publications entitled Dynamics and Statics and is primarily
intended and written for sixth form and first year university
students. The book covers elementary hydrostatics and 'constitutes
a simpler course' for students on the subject. Topics covered
include, 'the pressure of heavy fluids, centres of pressure,
floating bodies, simple applications of the metacentre and of the
general pressure equations, pressure of gases, the atmosphere,
hydrostatic machines and, because no book on the subject can be
considered complete without it, a short chapter on capillarity'.
Notably, the examples have mostly been chosen from papers set in
the Mathematical Tripos and in college and inter-collegiate
examinations. Acquaintance with calculus is assumed. This book will
be of great value to anyone with an interest in hydrostatics,
physics and the history of education.
First published in 1946, as the second edition of a 1932 original,
this book was intended to provide students with a sound working
knowledge of coordinate geometry. The text contains 'a full
discussion of the subject up to conics referred to their axes,
using both point equations and parametric methods wherever the
latter are suitable'. Exercises and examples are also included.
This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in coordinate
geometry and the history of mathematics.
An overdue revelation of the revolutionary diagnostic and treatment
techniques a chiropractor developed during his desperate,
decades-long quest to identify and eliminate his patients'
musculoskeletal pains, Nino's Ephiphanies chronicles the journey of
Dr. John Ramsey as he discovers how to help people live pain-free
without surgery, drugs, or exercise. Dr. Ramsey's methods do not
simply eliminate pain. They eliminate the underlying cause of pain
by addressing the foundation of bodily health itself-the
functioning of the musculoskeletal system. Nino's Epiphanies is the
only book currently available to: . Pinpoint the root cause of ill
health and describe treatments that correct the underlying reason
for pain. . Disprove assumptions of conventional medical care that
have gone unchallenged for generations. . Dispel popular
misconceptions of common and not-so-common ailments. . Offer hope
and healing to people who have been told they are just getting old,
they need surgery, or they need drugs to treat their problems. .
Provide anecdotal evidence from nearly a half-century of work with
patients. You will come away from Nino's Epiphanies with some
epiphanies of your own: most back, neck, and joint surgeries are
unnecessary; most drugs are unnecessary; most medical treatments
treat only the pain, not what causes it; and the human body has the
power to heal itself with the proper treatment. And most important
of all-you don't have to suffer ever again from chronic pain.
August Pedals is a book about real life experiences that can cause
people to ask questions about choices in life to see if the path he
or she is about to take will be the one that will take them to
where they are trying to go in life. The purpose of the book is to
bring people to a point of realizing how to achieve the best in
life. Sometimes (most times), this is done by associating with
people that are also geared toward seeking the best in life! If you
are at a crossroads in your life and need some refreshment to get a
jump-start on where you need to proceed next, this book will help
you to think about what that next step should be to get you on the
right path.
