Mit dem Sammelbegriff "undifferenzierte Astrozytome des GroBhirns" haben wir die supratentoriellen Astrozytome Grad III und IV nach Kerno- han bezeichnet, die in der englischen Literatur als "high-grade supraten- torial astrocytomas" zusammengefaBt werden. Wir haben diese Bezeich- nung gewahlt, weil die Begriffe Glioblastom, malignes Astrozytom oder anaplastisches Astrozytom im deutschen Sprachgebrauch je nach verwen- deter Nomenklatur eine spezifischere Bedeutung haben konnen. Die Erfolge mit randomisierten Studien und mit multimodaler Therapie bei anderen Malignomen und die EinfUhrung der Nitrosoharnstoffe in die Behandlung der Gliome an fangs der 70er Jahre haben das Interesse fUr die Therapie der undifferenzierten Astrozytome wieder verstarkt, was in ver- schiedenen groBeren Studien und einer vermehrten Anzahl von Publika- tionen auf diesem Gebiet zum Ausdruck kam. Obwohl der therapeutische Fortschritt leider nur bescheiden war, ist dadurch doch viel neues oder besser belegtes Wissen gewonnen worden. Es schien uns deshalb von allge- meinem Interesse, diese neueren Erkenntnisse tiber die undifferenzierten Astrozytome des GroBhirns in einer groBeren Obersichtsarbeit zusammen- zustellen. Mitarbeiterforderung und -entwicklung ist eine Aufgabe, die mit relativ einfachen, auch im Selbsttraining erlernbaren Techniken professionell ausgefuhrt werden kann. "Kreatives Fuhrungsverhalten" liefert die Anleitung fur wirksame Fuhrungsmethoden, die menschliches Verhalten beeinflussen.

Vielerorts wird die "zunehmende Bedeutung der Weiterbildung" im gegen wartigen Strukturwandel betont. Sie richtet den Blick auf ein betriebliches Gestaltungsfeld, dessen praktische Bedeutung in einem auffallenden Miss verhaltnis zur wissenschaftlichen Durchdringung steht: die betriebliche Wei terbildung. Als ihr zentraler Ausloser gelten im allgemeinen die sog. "neuen Technologien" und die "sich daraus ergebenden neuen Qualifikationsanforde rungen." Ein solcher Begrundungsansatz greift jedoch m. E. sowohl aus analytischen wie auch aus konzeptionellen Grunden zu kurz. Eine zukunftsweisende Debatte zu Qualifizierungsfragen in der betriebli chen Weiterbildung bedarf vielmehr eines umfassenden Bezugsrahmens, der den in der Industriesoziologie eingeleiteten Politisierungsansatz aufgreift und konzeptionell auf eine langfristige Perspektive ausgerichtet ist. Einen solchen Bezugspunkt sehe ich in der Verankerung der betrieblichen Weiterbildun- als ein Terrain betrieblicher Qualifikationspolitik - in dem Verhaltnis von Arbeitsgestaltung und Qualifizierung. Zentrales Anliegen dieser Arbeit ist es, ein Mosaiksteinehen zum derzeit noch sehr luckenhaften Bild der betriebli chen Weiterbildung beizutragen und einige konzeptionelle Uberlegungen einer vernunftgeleiteten betrieblichen Qualifikationspolitik zu entwickeln. An dem Ergebnis dieser Arbeit haben zahlreiche Gesprachs- und Diskus sionspartnerinnen aus Unternehmen, wissenschaftlichen Instituten und ande ren Organisationen mitgewirkt. In diesem Buch darf ich erstmals in deutscher Sprache umfassend und aktuell meine Ar- beit an Grundlagen und Realisierung eines Computer-Schachprogramms vorstellen. Seit nunmehr gut zehn Jahren bemuhen sich meine Mitarbeiter und ich um die Verfolgung eines anderen Ansatzes bei der Schachprogrammi erung als fast alle ubri gen Konkurrenten der Wel t. Der intellektuelle Streit entzundet sich an der Fragestellung, ob vorrangig Schnellig- keit, Speichergroesse und Zuverlassigkeit von Rechnern auszunutzen seien, oder die Mo- dellierung menschlicher Denkweisen beim Schachspielen angestrebt werden soll. Wahrend die meisten Kollegen in aller Welt die erste Meinung vertreten und mit den nach der sogenannten brute-force-Methode spielenden Programmen auch erstaunliche Erfolge er- zielen konnten, bin ich mit wenigen anderen Kritikern der Meinung, dass nur der zweite Ansatz auf Dauer die Spielstarke der Programme entscheidend verbessern kann. Naturlich gehen wir den weitaus schwereren Weg bei der Realisierung, denn die theore- tischen Grundlagen und die notwendigen Programmsysteme sind um vieles komplexer. So- mit mussen wir einen langen Atem beweisen und nicht um kurzfristiger Scheinerfolge willen das grosse Ziel gefahrden. Ich bin aber sehr froh, dass inzwischen auch unsere Programmierung weitgehend abgeschlossen ist, und unser Programm PIONI ER erste prak- tische Erfolge bei der Loesung von Studien nachweisen kann. Daher wird dieses Buch gerade zum richtigen Zeitpunkt erscheinen. Im Hauptteil dieses Werkes habe ich die allgemeinen Grundlagen ausfuhrlich dargestellt, die fur die Konzeption eines Schachprogramms, aber auch verwandter Problemstellungen notwendig sind.
