Against the epic backdrop of France at a time of civil unrest, Les Misérables is the story of Jean Valjean, a former convict unable to escape the shadow of his past life. His future is threatened by his nemesis, the chilling police officer and former prison guard Javert, who is determined to bring him to justice. Meanwhile Fantine, a working class woman abandoned by her rich lover, is driven to increasingly desperate measures to provide for her young daughter.

Their stories collide and as a revolutionary violence ignites on the streets of Paris, Jean Valjean begins an epic journey towards self-acceptance, redemption and love.

Toby Jones stars in this three-part BBC adaptation of John Lanchester's novel. The drama centres around the residents of the fictional Pepys Road in South London, where houses cost a small fortune. Occupiers of the street vary from those who have lived there since before the London property boom, including elderly widow Petunia Howe (Gemma Jones), to the recently moved in wealthier residents, including banker Roger Hunt (Jones). After all of the street's residents receive mysterious postcards bearing the message 'We want what you have', the interweaving connections between them begin to unravel.

A daughter tries to reunite her warring family in this food-centred comedy set in Leicester's 'Little India'. After falling out in spectacular fashion, brothers Raja (Harish Patel) and Jagi (Kulvinder Ghir), who both happen to be chefs, decide to divide up the family recipe book and open rival restaurants across the street from one another. With one brother concentrating on starters and the other on main courses, the rivalry continues unabated for the next 20 years. But when Raja's daughter Shalini (Amara Karan) decides to plan her wedding to fiancé Mark (Tom Mison), she sees it as an ideal opportunity for her father and uncle to finally bury the hatchet by having them both cook on her big day.
