Franz Welser-Möst conducts the Wiener Philharmoniker in this live performance commemorating the centenary of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo.

Alban Berg's dark, satirical opera charts the rise and fall of a femme fatale, from life as a society hostess to prostitution and eventually bloody death at the hands of Jack the Ripper. Franz Welser-Most leads the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House in this production from 2002, with Laura Aiken in the lead role.

Claudio Abbado conducts the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra in this performance of works by Prokofiev, Berg, and Tchaikovsky, recorded live at the Lucerne Festival in 2010.

Peter Mussbach's highly-stylised production of Berg's opera, recorded live at the Oper Frankfurt in 1996. Dale Duesing takes the lead role, with Kristine Ciesinski as Marie, Dieter Bundschuh as the Captain and Frode Olsen as the Doctor. The conductor is Sylvain Cambreling.

According to Elias Canetti, "with Wozzeck, Buchner achieved the most complete revolution in the whole of literature". The same can be said of Berg's opera, as revolutionary in the history of music.
