Struggling actor Riggan Thomson is still remembered today for his portrayal of superhero Birdman from his early career. Fed up with only being recognised for one thing, Riggan stages a comeback with a difference.

He aims to broaden his fanbase and win back some of his credibility through a performance on Broadway, but his biggest problem has always been his ego and taking orders from people is not on his to-do list.

Tom Hanks stars in this historical drama, set during the Cold War, directed by Steven Spielberg. When Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance) sits down on a park bench in Brooklyn, New York, a secret message left for him causes the FBI to arrest him under suspicion of being a Soviet spy. When insurance lawyer James B. Donovan (Hanks) is assigned to Abel's defence, he finds his new challenge increasingly difficult as the defendent refuses to co-operate. Bryan Cranston stars in this crime drama based on US Customs official Robert Mazur's autobiography. The film follows Mazur (Cranston) as he goes undercover to infiltrate the money laundering operations of drug lord Pablo Escobar. Assuming the identity of successful businessman Bob Musella, Mazur promotes himself as the man who can turn dirty cash into clean. By laundering money for the drug cartels he hopes he will be led directly to the most powerful men at the top of the chain. In his new role as an undercover agent, Bob sets up complex networks of investments to protect the drug dealers' money and as he works his way up Escobar's organisation he is forced to go to new lengths to protect his cover and continue his mission. The cast also includes John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt and Diane Kruger.

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart star as high school buddies on a mission for the CIA in this action comedy. When former bully victim and current CIA agent Bob Stone (Johnson) returns home for a high school reunion, he seeks out the help of former popular student Calvin (Hart). Now a successful accountant, Calvin's expertise are needed to help Stone uncover the mastermind behind a plot to steal classified national security codes. Before Calvin realises what he's got himself into, the unlikely duo set off into a world of espionage, double-crosses and shootouts. The movie also stars Amy Ryan, Aaron Paul and Megan Park.

True crime thriller directed by Atom Egoyan and starring Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon. The film follows the 1993 murder and mutilation of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, and the resulting trial of the three teenage boys found guilty of the killings. Firth plays visiting private investigator Ron Lax who leads the defence of the suspected killers. Through his work on the case and conversations with Pam Hobbs (Witherspoon), the mother of one of the dead children, Ron finds there may be more to the deaths than the authorities think, but will it be enough to contend with the beliefs of the small Bible Belt community?
