Kohle ist reichlich vorhanden. Die Vorkommen sind geographisch breit ge- streuti Entwicklungslander verfOgen darOber meist ebenso wie die groBen Industrie-Nationen. Die Erd61- und Erdgasvorkommen sind dagegen ein- seitiger verteilt und voraussichtlich in wenigen Jahrzehnten ersch6pft. 1m Vergleich zu Mineral61 und Erdgas ist die Kohle aufwendiger zu gewinnen und in der Handhabung weniger bequem. I n den SOer und 60er Jahren bOBte die Kohle daher erhebliche Marktanteile zugunsten des Mineral61s und Erdgases ein. Durch die Entwicklungen der jOngsten Zeit hat die Kohle weltweit an Be- deutung gewonnen. Es ware jedoch vermessen, die Preisentwicklung von Erd61 zahlenmaBi'g abzuschatzen und allein unter wirtschaftlichen Gesichts- punkten den Zeitpunkt einer zunehmenden Resubstitution des Erd61s durch Kohle fixieren zu wollen. Die zukOnftige Energie-, Kraftstoff- und Rohstoffversorgung muB ausrei- chend und langfristig gesichert sein, wobei gleichzeitig sowohl dem Ge- sichtspunkt der Wirtschaftlichkeit als auch den Erfordernissen des Umwelt- schutzes Rechnung zu tragen ist.
