The adventure begins with our protagonist's DUI crimes which leads to a cultural immersion of an unlikely type. As a self- determined non-criminal she fights her self-rightousness and judgments through a renewed relationship with God. The story is frank, funny, and a positive message for hope and recovery.

A solo trip to South Africa goes very wrong when Ann, an intrepid dreamer, puts her trust in a stranger. A recent illness does not stop her from taking the trip against her father's advice. One self defeating decision after another leads to the loss of her career, her home, her money, a child, and her dignity. Ann gets through the hard time and comes through it shining with hope on the other side.
