information, balanced commentary, and consideration of nuanced
points that will cause you to think more deeply about your

of philosophical and practical importance in parenting. We also

Throughout these pages we have provided hundreds of little bits of
insight, encouragement, strategy, inspiration, and solution
options. From our hearts to yours, we hope you will find the ideas
and strategies in Maximum Strength Parenting to be worthy
companions on your lifelong journey of raising a Maximum Strength
Child.

A wide variety of therapies have been identified that help people
reverse the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. One such method is the
use of natural herbs. An advantage of this approach is that herbs
do not require a prescription from a medical doctor. Side effects
are also usually not as problematic as seen with prescription
medications. The challenge everyone faces is to figure out which
herbs are useful for which symptoms and, more importantly, if using
herbs of one type of another might interfere with any prescription
medications. The "go to" man with answers to these questions is
herbalist Andrew Bentley who is an expert in knowing which herbs to
use for which Parkinson's symptoms. Have you ever wondered what
herbs might be useful for people who experience tremors, excessive
salivation, rigidity and depression? Andrew Bentley offers
suggestions for all of these symptoms and more. Herbalist Andrew

The Presentation tells the story of David who, with the help of his
boss, Barbara and the enigmatic Professor Edwards, is preparing for
the most important presentation of his life. In a few short days,
David will have to convince the Board that his division-along with
his job and those of all his staff-is worth saving. He has the data
he needs, and he thinks he has a good case, but can he pull it all
together in a way that will capture the Board's attention and pitch
his proposal successfully, in just a few slides...? Follow David as
he learns: ... that you cannot add interest to your presentation,
through fancy transitions, clip art, and so on; you can only draw
out the interest inherent in it by solving a problem for your
audience. ... that there is a vast difference between slides
designed for a large, Ballroom style presentation to inform or
entertain your audience, and a smaller, Conference Room style
presentation designed to persuade or sell. ... how to decide what
you should include in your presentation, and what you should leave
out. ... and how to design a presentation when the goal is to
persuade your audience to do something: invest in your company, buy
your product, approve your project, support your initiative, or
donate to your organization.

This report focuses on the income and employment effects
recreational visitors to refuges have on the economies of local
regions. It also details the economic impact of "ecotourism," the
relatively recent phenomenon of large numbers of people traveling
substantial distances to take part in non-consumptive uses of the
natural environment. This report has four main sections. An
Introduction details the study's overall rationale, outlines its
economic concepts, and describes the methods and data sources used.
The second section presents 15 sample refuge descriptions,
highlighting the recreational activities enjoyed at each refuge,
analyzing the regional economic factors involved, and putting the
results of this analysis into perspective. A National View section
discusses the overall results for the sample refuges and
extrapolates them to a nationwide estimate. Finally, appendices
provide background detail on the economic models used for the
refuge estimates and the nationwide aggregation.
The primary purpose of this book is to answer the questions, "What
kind of person kidnapped, tortured, sexually assaulted, and
murdered JonBenet Ramsey? Did John or Patsy Ramsey torture,
sexually assault, and murder JonBenet?" The secondary purpose is to
educate criminal justice practitioners, psychologists, criminal
justice students, psychology students, and the public about
psychopathy and sadism in an effort to prevent more people from
becoming victims. JonBenet Ramsey was only six years old when she
was taken from her bed and murdered on December 25, 1996. Not only
did John and Patsy Ramsey lose their daughter during a horrific
murder, but they were falsely accused of the murder by members of
the Boulder Police Department and the news media. JonBenet's murder
remains unsolved 15 years after her death and the killer has never
been brought to justice. Andrew "Lou" Smit was stricken with cancer
and passed away on August 11, 2010, after this book was 90%
written. Lou was a highly respected criminal investigator with the
Colorado Springs and El Paso County Sheriff's Department, who had
investigated 200 homicides with a 90% clearance rate. Lou played a
major role during the investigation of JonBenet's death and he
became the leading authority of the intruder theory. Lou shares his
insight and experience in this book. Robert Whitson, Ph.D., was a
law enforcement officer for 30 years and retired from the Boulder
Police Department in 2005. He spent six years obtaining his
doctorate degree after he retired and, because of JonBenet's
murder, studied psychopathy for his dissertation. He has taught
criminal justice at the college level for eight years and he shares
his knowledge about psychopathy and sadism in this book.
Psychopaths comprise about one-percent of the American population,
but they comprise a dispproportionate rate of about 25% of the
prison population. Psychopaths may be responsible for as much as
50% of violent crimes and 90% of serial killers are psychopaths.
Psychopaths tend to demonstrate abnormal sexual behaviors,
including sadistic characteristics. Not every psychopath will
become a criminal who commits serial rapes or serial murders, but
the vast majority of people who commit the most heinous and violent
crimes in our society are psychopaths. After reading this book, Lou
Smit and Robert Whitson believe you will agree a sadistic pscyopath
murdered JonBenet Ramsey - not her parents.
This book of case studies is designed to serve as a resource guide
to help higher education students apply higher education leadership
and management theories to practice, and to allow them to actively
engage in working through diverse institutional issues within
assorted institutional contexts. Though this collection of cases
was initially created to facilitate the application of theory to
practice in small group discussions, individual cases can be easily
utilized for more formalized written responses. The cases have been
thematically organized within the following broad leadership and
management categories: 1) leadership issues; 2) addressing mental
health issues; 3) moments of crisis and campus safety; 4)
technology in academia; 5) academic freedom; 6) campus diversity;
7) strategic planning and staffing issues; 8) working with student
organizations; and 9) policy issues and fiscal tensions.
