In 2005, at the age of 20, Andy Lee decided he was going to try to
make it in the harsh and unforgiving world of professional boxing.
Leaving home for the dust and faded glamour of Detroit, over the
next ten years, under the guidance of the legendary Manny Steward,
he set about honing his craft, winning fight after fight, and
slowly ascending the professional ranks. Then, in 2012, his star
ascendant, Lee suffered two devastating blows in quick succession:
defeat in his first world championship bout and the sudden loss of
Steward, his guide and confidant. Bereft, his career in jeopardy,
the path to redemption would test every hard-won lesson of the
previous decade. 'Not so much a memoir as a lyrical treatise on the
great themes: defeat, death, persistence, redemption, and the
importance of friendship and family' Sunday Times
It's time to visit Monster again, but he still insists that you

* Highlighting the year's 25 most important under-reported news
stories, this volume alerts readers to deficiencies in corporate
media and the resurgence of alternative media.
Every year since 1976, Project Censored, our nation's oldest
news-monitoring group, has produced a Top-25 list of underreported
news stories and a book dedicated to the stories that ought to be
top features on the nightly news, but that are missing because of
media bias and self-censorship.
A perennial favorite of booksellers, teachers, and readers
everywhere, "Censored" is one of the strongest lifesigns of our
current collective desire to get the news we citizens need-despite
what Big Media tells us.
Seven Stories Press has been publishing this yearbook since 1994.
The top 25 stories are listed in order of importance and for how
neglected these stories were by major media. Top stories in recent
years have included "Signs of an Emerging Police State," "Fukishima
Nuclear Disaster More Devestating Than Anticipated," "A 'Culture of
Cruelty' Along Mexico-US Border," and "Obama's War on
Whistleblowers." In additional chapters, scholars and journalists
take a critical look at timely issues, such as the US/NATO
military-industrial-media empire.
Veterinarian Dane Vincent is used to being unlucky in love.
That’s why his crush on new friend Ben is No Big Deal. He’s
more than happy to swoop to Ben’s rescue when he brings a ferret
into his practice. It’s what friends do—and vets. Ben Clifford
came to Lockstone for a new job and a fresh start. He didn’t
expect to make friends, never mind a tightknit group of them.
They’re all wacky and wonderful, and he fits right in, something
he’s never done before. They even support him when he finds a
ferret at work and decides to keep the cute little bundle of joy.
There’s just one tiny problem. Ben’s house doesn’t allow
pets. Moving into Dane’s spare room is meant to be temporary, but
the more time he spends with him, the less he wants to leave. They
connect on a level he’s never experienced before, and slowly but
surely, the feelings of friendship Ben has for Dane morph into
something deeper. The question is… does he have the courage to
act on them?
Andy was an industrial engineer from Indonesia. He couldn't use his
degree when he arrived here in America at age 25, in May 2002. The
currency at that time was US $1.00 = INA Rp. 10,000.00. Not wanting
to be in debt in the brand new frontier that he wasn't sure about
yet, he was determined to work his best with what he had and with
what he could do, and worked in fast food restaurants, shoe
departments, and martial arts schools. While doing so, he was also
an elder and a choir director at a local church, growing a blessed
beautiful family, and teaching MMA. The amazing thing is that he
had no debt at all, had paid off his mortgage, had built his
retirement and prepared for his children's future only during his
first 6.5 years of living here. All that was generated by his
family income which was mainly from his restaurant job and his
wife's retail job. That's quite a remarkable accomplishment that
many people don't dare to dream about, especially in this economy.
His book will open our eyes to what he believes and how he applies
it in his real life to accomplish such a true joy, health, and
wealth. Using a lot of fun, unique analogies and examples from
movies, sports, and real life scenarios, he really makes it easy
for people to connect to what he believes. His positive attitude
and outlook toward life are truly infectious. So many people who
have known him personally always feel that their spirit is
elevated, their adrenaline is pumped, and their potential is
boosted. And Andy really hopes that the very same positive effects
can be benefited by people everywhere through reading his book. And
Andy always wishes that someday he can personally meet everyone who
have read his book and congratulate them for their beautiful
transformation.
Bleep the Purple Bear is a story of a young boy named Johnny who
grows into a young man before the eyes of a purple bear, Bleep, and
other tree house toys. It is imagination through the eyes of Bleep.
Bleep and the other toys watch the tranformation of the boy into
the man. The toys have some vivid imaginations as the watch from
the tree house. The story goes full circle as the man Johnny brings
his son Andy to the tree house to have the same adventures he had a
a boy. The beauty of the book is the that the illustrations are the
creation of the son of the author. The imagination of the son as
his dad told the story are now reality in the book.
