Finding God in the diversity of races, cultures, and creeds that
make up our neighborhoods and cities, our country and our world, is
one of the most important tasks for people of faith today. Seeing
God in Diversity: Exodus and Acts, takes that task seriously. Here
readers will find a parish study resource that promotes tolerance,
diversity, and inclusiveness by looking at two biblical stories
from multiple points of view: the story of the returning Jews in
the Book of Exodus and the story of the new Christian community in
the Book of Acts. The lessons of these ancient communities - and
the way they dealt with many of the issues we face today - lead
readers to put themselves in the place of each group and re-examine
their faith and work for greater inclusiveness in their own
communities. Lessons are arranged as six two-hour sessions, and
include background commentary for study leaders, readings,
activities, and discussion questions.

The scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) began primarily as
a discipline-based movement, committed to exploring the signature
pedagogical and learning styles of each discipline within higher
education, with little exchange across disciplines. As the field
has developed, new questions have arisen concerning
cross-disciplinary comparison and learning in multidisciplinary
settings This volume by a stellar group of experts provides a
state-of-the-field review of recent SoTL scholarship within a range
of disciplines and offers a stimulating discussion of critical
issues related to interdisciplinarity in teaching, learning, and
SoTL research. -- Indiana University Press
In the book of Jeremiah, gendered imagery appears in central
passages. A first of its kind, this study follows the development
of these gendered images through the entire prophetic book.
Feminist hermeneutics and literary approaches join to show that
female imagery in particular substantiates the theological movement
of Jeremiah from call to repentance in the face of death and
destruction through remembrance in mourning to an eschatological
vision of redemption in exile. Further, theological considerations
of power dynamics bring the ancient texts in conversation with
contemporary contexts, reading and challenging Jeremianic theology
from the perspectives of current feminist liberation theologies.
