In a city filled with costumed villains, one man will strive to
make a difference. Trained in martial arts and with an arsenal of
weapons to due battle, the dark figure known only as the Cowl will
stop any foe who wants to hurt, steal or murder his fellow
citizens. Zombies, werewolves and giant robots are just some of the
dangers he will face, and the Cowl would gladly give his life to
save those he's vowed to protect. But when a man battles evil every
day, and though his own moral code is strong, is it possible that
no matter how powerful his willpower, in the end he may become that
which he seeks to destroy?
A Brave New World---- Survival is a perilous game a hundred years
after the bombs fell, devastating the world and leaving behind
death and destruction in its wake. But no matter what, mankind
perseveres, and out of the ashes small towns still exist, ruled by
barons with a taste for wealth and blood, while outside these small
enclaves, slavers, marauders, and cannibals search for easy prey.
----Past Mistakes---- A century earlier, Hank Summers and his band
of warrior survivalists became inadvertently trapped in an
underground government bunker with little food and no hope of
escape. With the only egress to the bunker sealed with a timer, one
not to be opened for a hundred years, the four weary companions had
no choice but to use the experimental hibernation chambers, in the
hopes of remaining in stasis until the doors opened ten decades
later. ----Blood and Death---- But nothing experimental is
foolproof, and Hank ends up waking weeks earlier than the others.
With no choice but to venture out into the world alone, to find
food for himself and his soon-to-waking-friends, he quickly
discovers that the world is just as cruel and barbaric as before he
went into hibernation. With only his weapons and wits to survive,
it's still possible Hank may not survive to return to the bunker
and his waiting friends, as new enemies soon begin hunting him.
Though the future may be deadlier than the past, it's all that
remains.

Once upon a time there were zombies... Not the typical beginning to
a fairy tale story, but what if it was? What if there was a zombie
outbreak and the Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood were involved?
What about the Three Little Pigs, or perhaps Rapunzel? That's what
this anthology is all about. Taking the living dead and mixing them
up with all those fairy tales we know and love. Welcome to the
make-believe world of Zombies and Fairy Tales, where not only does
the impossible happen, but it occurs alongside the walking dead.
Escaping Boston as it falls to the walking dead, Dodger, Pete, Pam
and Kevin, four desperate survivors of the zombie outbreak, have no
choice but to set down in an overrun shopping mall in a suburban
town far west of the city due to low fuel. Safe for the moment in
their hidden haven on the top floor of the zombie-filled mall,
things quickly go from bad to worse before any of them realize it
when one of the group becomes bitten by a zombie. But it's not all
bad. The mall has a video store full of porn And more food in the
shops than any of them could ever eat. Plus loads of clothes and
other valuable items it would take a lifetime to afford. But their
sanctuary isn't as safe as they believed upon arrival; the walking
dead are always out there, just waiting for a chance to feed.
Undead clowns, Shriner biker gangs, and loads of animated corpses
are just some of the obstacles between the four humans and
survival. Welcome to the Comedy of the Dead, where life is a joke,
and death is the ultimate punch line.
Something evil stalks British politician Paul Lessingham through
nineteenth century London. Neither a man nor a woman, the fiend
hunts from the shadows, seeking vengeance for past deeds by
mesmerizing others to do its bidding. Lessingham is a haunted man,
and though in fear for his life, it's possible the past is far more
dangerous than the present. With the help of Sydney Atherton and
Marjorie Lindon, he will attempt to escape the clutches of revenge.
But can any man escape "The Curse of the Beetle"?
From a first look, zombies may seem different from regular people.
After all, they smell, they like to eat brains, and they don't
clean up after themselves. Now most of this stuff can be
overlooked-well, maybe not the brain-eating-but how do you accept
someone into your life that is technically dead? The
living-challenged may be clumsy, and they may be sloppy eaters, but
one thing is for sure is that they can also be amusing, and when
you really get a good look at them, maybe, just maybe, they aren't
that scary at all and in fact, they are actually funny So before
you shoot that zombie in the head or run for the mountains to live
the life of a hermit, read this book and find out all that you've
been missing about the walking dead. Because after all, zombies are
people too
Years have passed since the dead first began to walk, and the world
is a very different place. Gone are the luxuries man once enjoyed,
to be replaced with a want for basic necessities, such as food,
clothing, shelter, and of course, safety from the walking dead. At
a time when the survivors of the land believe the undead scourge is
almost over, as the dead begin to fade away, a new threat rises
from out of the Nevada desert. A lone zombie has appeared with the
power to control the undead, and this thinking, reasoning ghoul has
a hate for mankind that has rarely been seen before. Gathering the
living dead to him, this zombie king begins to sweep across the
state, absorbing every town and enclave he comes across, killing
the inhabitants and turning them into zombies so they can join his
dead army. Henry Watson and his warrior survivalists discover the
threat of the zombie king before they reach the next town in their
travels, where the group tries desperately to convince the town
leaders of their dire fate. But when the dead army arrives and
surrounds the town, causing an unending siege that will result in
the death of every living human being within its walls, it will be
up to Henry to risk all for his friends and the human race. If he
fails, there will be no stopping the dead army before it wipes
humanity from the planet, leaving nothing but the dead to inherit
the earth. In a world filled with the living dead, you can either
fight or die.
MORE ADVENTURES INTO THE WORLD OF DAY OF THE DEAD It has been years
since the dead began to walk and civilization is now nothing but a
memory. Cities are nothing but ruins, filled with the living dead,
and where once small enclaves survived, now they are all gone. One
of the last holdouts, a group of soldiers and scientists hidden in
an underground bunker in Florida, are also gone after being overrun
by the undead. But there were three survivors: Sarah, John and
McDermott. Escaping in a helicopter, the group found refuge on an
island off the coast of Florida, where they hope to begin life
anew, away from the death and destruction that was once mankind.
But the island is far from uninhabited, and soon Sarah and the
others find themselves embroiled in the struggles of a small camp
of people that came to the island years ago at the beginning of the
outbreak. Here, men of science as well as civilians have begun
working on a cure for the undead plague. But then Sarah finds out
that she is the key to the cure, that she alone could be the one to
save the remaining humans on the planet from a fate worse than
death. Only there is one hitch. The key to the cure of the plague
is buried in her notes back at the underground bunker, and the only
way to reach Sarah's lab is through hundreds upon hundreds of
walking dead that now fill the corridors. With a small commando
force joining in, Sarah, John and McDermott have no choice but
return to the fateful bunker where Sarah and the others had only
narrowly escaped with their lives weeks ago. But unknown to them,
the bunker harbors an evil far worse than the walking dead. An
enemy they believe long dead has resurfaced with only one
goal...vengeance and death. Though at first there was the Day of
the Dead, eventually night must fall. Then there is only the Sunset
of the Dead.
Clowns. They're supposed to be happy, full of laughter and fun, but
there's a dark underside to these masked harlequins, one hidden
under all that makeup and colorful hair. Who hasn't stared at a
clown and become frightened, a chill running down your backside
when that clown turned his cold gaze on you? Who hasn't felt a
flutter of fear when that painted face grinned over at you, the
smile seeming to be hiding something evil? Clowns have been around
for ages, and though supposedly filled with cheer, there is
something sinister behind all that pomp and fluff. A fear of clowns
is ingrained in all of us, some more than others, and in this
anthology, that fear has been extrapolated on like a cut torn open
to expose the bleeding wound within. So get ready for stories that
show the clown in a new light, one where the painted mask of
happiness has been wiped away, leaving only terror behind.
What could be better than Christmas? How about Christmas and
zombies? That's right; this anthology explores what would happen at
Christmas time if there was a zombie epidemic in the world. Zombie
Santas, undead elves, and reanimated reindeer, are just some of the
characters in this merry little anthology. Once you read about
Santa feeding on children and Rudolph devouring Mrs. Claus at the
North Pole, you will never see Christmas the same way again
When the world ends in fire and death, those who survive will pray
they had perished as well. Once lush land is now rolling desert
hills, radiation pits where lakes once were. Twisted things that
were once human roam the land, trying to survive just one more day.
These are only a few of the scenarios at Earth's End, and this
collection of stories from popular and up-and-coming authors will
surely make you think the next time you see a flash in the night
sky. Was that light a meteor? Or perhaps World War 3 is about to
begin. Would you be ready if it was? The Earth may have been
created in only one way, but there are countless ways it can be
destroyed. There is no hope at Earth's End, only death and
suffering.
Welcome to the House of Terrors Monsters, torturers and serial
killers abound in this collection of horror stories not for the
faint of heart, written by both established and up and coming new
authors. In the darkness within us all resides a demon no one can
destroy, one that feeds on carnage and mayhem. Though you may try
to deny this, you know it's true. Human beings are no more than
animals, filled with selfishness, greed and evil intentions. Will
you face your true self or continue hiding in the shadows? If
unsure, then delve into these pages of terror and unlock your
innermost fears.
Death is the great equalizer. Young or old, rich or poor, in the
end, we will all feel Death's cold embrace. There is no way to
escape it, no way to stop the inevitable. If there is one certainty
in life, it is that we will all die eventually. But instead of
ignoring Death, and trying not to think about it, this anthology
sheds light on that one thing each human being on the planet will
do alone. What will you do when your time finally comes? What will
you do when it is 11:59 and at midnight your fate is sealed? Though
you think you may know the answer, the truth is, no one knows, not
until they are there, watching that second hand tick away that last
minute of their life. For in the end, Death comes for us all; there
is no escape.
With long thin tails, beady eyes and usually carriers of plagues,
rats are one of the most reviled creatures on the planet. And for
good reason. Vicious in the extreme, rats will go to great lengths
to find food and have no qualms about feeding on human flesh if
there is a need. Imagine being trapped in the sewers of New York
while all around you are hundreds of rats, their hungry eyes
watching and waiting for a chance to attack. Or maybe you find
yourself in a garbage dump and are helpless, and as night begins to
fall, the rats come out to feed...on you. While digging a grave in
a cemetery, the rats are there, waiting for a chance to pounce. Or
one dark night, the rats enter your house while you sleep, to then
swarm over you while you lay helpless in bed. These are the stuff
of nightmares, of horrors best left in the dark. Welcome to Rat
War, where the battle to survive may not always be the outcome you
might expect, and where the worst enemy may be your own fear.
The war between Good and Evil has raged since before Time began.
Now it's ultimate power versus ultimate savagery. With ferocious
fangs, flesh-ripping claws and a feral hunger to destroy anything
in their path, werewolves are one of the most feared monsters on
the planet. Stepping in to stop their quest for blood are the
metahumans, men and women with powerful abilities that set them
apart from the rest of humanity. Some wear costumes as symbols of
hope, others operate discreetly, using their special abilities for
good. Put these two groups of people together and you have a clash
between light and darkness that is sure to rock the foundation of
the world and bring about an epic battle unlike anything seen
before. Featuring familiar heroes like Axiom-man, Midnight Angel,
Nightcat, The Wraith, The Cowl and others, these eleven stories of
super-powered heroism and terror are a thrilling ride through the
worlds of wolf and superhero, and to a place where only one can
remain standing. Contains stories by Frank Dirscherl, Lorne Dixon,
A.P. Fuchs, Anthony Giangregorio, Keith Gouveia, Jon Klement, J.L.
MacDonald, Gina Ranalli, Jim Robb, Stephen Semones and Scott Story.
