Our objective has always been to produce an English-language comprehensive, but yet compact, book of hadith that is easy to read and understand by Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Simply put, there is no one book of hadith that meets that criterion better than the book written by Imam Al-Nawawi in the thirteenth century and known as Al-Nawawi Forty Hadiths and Commentary. The book covers all aspects of Islam from the very basic abstract definitions to the most practical daily chores. It contains all the major sharia laws. The book is a horse's mouth for hadith commentary and is the cream of the crop of all hadith books. We translated from Arabic Imam Al-Nawawi's book in its entirety including the lines of poetry. This English translation by the Arabic Virtual Translation Center is complete, accurate, unfiltered, and unbiased.
Next to the Qur'an, Islam's holiest text is qudsi hadith. Based on this premise, Islamic scholars have always been fascinated with the collection and study of this type of hadith. We collected 1230 qudsi hadiths in a book we titled 1000 Qudsi Hadiths: An Encyclopedia of Divine Sayings. 1000 Qudsi Hadiths is not only the biggest collection of qudsi hadiths in English, it is the biggest collection of qudsi hadiths ever put together in any language including Arabic. It contains all the qudsi hadiths reported by major hadith reporters such as Al-Bukhari and Muslim as well as all the qudsi hadiths reported by auxiliary hadith reporters such as Al-Tabarani, Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Hakim Al-Naysaburi, Ibn-Hibban, Ibn-Khuzaymah, Al-Daylami, Ibn-Hajar, Al-Suyuti, Al-Muttaqi Al-Hindi, Al-Mundhiri, Al-Haythami, and Ibn-Kathir. The book derives its content from the biggest 216 hadith books ever written.
In his lifetime, Ibn-Daqiq wrote many books but this has become his most popular. In it he comments on the forty hadiths compiled by Yahya Al-Nawawi and known as the Nawawi Forty Hadiths. His commentary has become so popular that it is virtually impossible for any scholar to write a serious book about the forty hadiths without quoting Ibn-Daqiq. This is the only book that combines the sagacity of Ibn-Daqiq and the vast knowledge of Al-Nawawi. The book was written centuries ago but its benefits are everlasting. The book is indispensible for anyone who wants to study Islam thoroughly and laconically from the masters themselves. We translated from Arabic Ibn-Daqiq's commentary in its entirety. We listed the text of each hadith first and followed it by the commentary. We added a detailed table of contents and thorough explanatory notes. A short introduction to the science of hadith by the translators is also included.
