2011 Reprint of 1947 Edition. Full facsimile of the original
edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. In this
work, Pink examines the seven recorded statements of Christ on the
Cross. He identifies them as a Word of Forgiveness, a Word of
Salvation, a Word of Affection, a Word of Anguish, a Word of
Suffering, a Word of Victory, and a Word of Contentment. Arthur
Walkington Pink (1886-1952) was an English Christian evangelist and
Biblical scholar known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like
teachings. After Pink's death, his works were republished by a
number of publishing houses and reached a much wider audience as a
result. Biographer Iain Murray observes of Pink, "the widespread
circulation of his writings after his death made him one of the
most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the
twentieth century." His writing sparked a revival of expository
preaching and focused readers' hearts on biblical living.
