Principles of Textile Printing discusses technical aspects of textile printing, covering almost all topics related to textile printing, including the types and quality of printing important for user satisfaction. It offers historical and introductory aspects of textile printing, styles and methods of printing, and printing and ancillary machines. Describes a variety of existing technologies and a wide range of designs created by applying colors in restricted portions using printing tools. Identifies technical, as opposed to artistic, aspects of textile printing. Covers a wide range of diverse and economical designs created by applying colors in restricted portions using printing tools. Discusses theoretical as well as practical aspects of textile printing. Explores a broad variety of printing types. The book aims to educate those readers from large printing houses as well as from cottage and smaller boutique printers so that their products meet fastness standards.
This book focuses on flame retardants (FR) for textile materials. It discusses basics of flame retardancy and flammability and covers various types of flame retardants and materials, including natural FRs, halogen, phosphorous, and nanomaterial-based FRs. This book also discusses methods of applications of FRs and discusses FRs and the environment. Covers a variety of interdisciplinary applications in the textile industry Emphasizes environmental aspects Reports on a large number of FR compounds studied globally Discusses in detail recent developments in halogen-free eco-friendly flame retardants Extensively describes basic aspects of flame retardancy and their measurements Aimed at the practitioner and textile engineering professional this work aims to ensure development of safe textile materials for various uses, including apparel, protective wear, floor coverings, upholstery, drapery, and others.

Drug repurposing, or drug repositioning, or reprofi ling, has emerged as a valid approach in modern drug discovery. The book describes tools and techniques for identifying new therapeutic potentials for existing drugs and covers the repurposing of drugs from synthetic and natural origin. It compares the costs of drug repurposing with traditional drug discovery and discusses challenges and future perspectives of drug repurposing.

Colour and appearance perceptions are very complex psychological phenomena. Written by one of the foremost authorities in the field, this major two-volume work addresses the key topics required to understand the issues and manage colour effectively. Principles of colour appearance and measurement Volume 2 addresses the visual measurement of colour, methods of comparing colours, and the management of colour in industry. Volume 2 begins with an overview of the visual measurement of colour. Chapter 1 discusses means of colour communication and various visual attributes of colour. Chapter 2 then focuses on several popular colour order systems, and chapter 3 discusses various colour difference formulae and their use in colour comparison and control. Subsequent chapters review instrumental colorant formulation, metamerism, chromatic adaptation and colour constancy, methods of shade sorting and digital colour reproduction.
Principles of Textile Finishing presents the latest information on textile finishing for industry professionals and researchers who are new to the field. As these processes are versatile and varied in their applications, the book provides information on how decisions on finishes and techniques may be made subjectively or based on experience. In addition, the book presents the desired final properties of textile materials and how they differ widely from product to product, helping finishers who face significant challenges in delivering fabrics that meet the requirements of end-users be successful. Written by an author who is an expert in the field, and who has with many years of experience in industry and academia, this book provides an accessible introduction to the principles, types, and applications of textile finishes.
Susceptibility to fracture of materials due to vibration is determined from the stress and frequency. Maximum amplitude of vibration must be within the limits for the safety of the structure. Hence vibration analysis has become very important in designing a structure. The solution to nonlinear or large amplitude vibration of low flexural rigidity structures as obtained based on the lineage models provides no more than a first approximation to the actual solutions. The increasing demand for more realistic models to predict the responses of elastic bodies combined with the availability of super computational facilities have enabled researchers to abandon the linear theories in favour of non-linear methods of solutions. In the present investigation, large amplitude vibration of several rectangular plates has been studied using the finite element method. The formulations have incorporated the shear deformation of the plates. Effects of variations in the Poisson's ratio, thickness parameter & plate aspect ratio on the non-linear frequency ratio has been included in the research. This book is meant for scholars who are beginners in the study of FE analysis of vibrational responses.
"Compared to the rest of the children, Rajashree was very healthy and her wonderful innocent beauty did not match the other children of the family. They wanted to isolate Rajashree completely from their children like her mother from themselves. This behaviour gave them great satisfaction, thinking they had made her feel degraded." A widower and father of three married sons, Sailesh stuns his family when he suddenly marries Rama, a beautiful woman much younger than his sons. His children are confused when they realize that their father has given half of their inheritance to his wife. When Rama gives birth to a daughter named Rajashree, emotions run high as the siblings struggle to understand this new person in their life. When Rajashree turns seventeen, her father dies. Fearing that she had something to do with her father's death, Rajashree succumbs to delirium. In her visions, a man rescues her from certain death. After she heals from her illness, Rajashree thinks she sees the man from her vision on the city streets. Time and time again, she roams through the same street to look for him, knowing that he is her long-lost soul mate. Will Rajashree ever find the man who haunts her dreams?
