Public Internet discussion forums offer opportunities for
intercultural interaction in many languages on a vast range of
topics, but are often overlooked by language educators in favour of
purpose-built exchanges between learners. The book investigates
this untapped pedagogical potential.
"Practical Cardiovascular Hemodynamics" provides an in-depth
understanding of waveforms and tracings seen in various disease
states as well as pathophysiology behind those findings. Practical
issues that are rarely discussed or focused upon in textbooks are
highlighted in this book with detailed waveform analysis. Pitfalls
in the hemodynamic assessment of valvular diseases, constriction,
tamponade, pulmonary hypertension, shunt pathology, congenital
heart disease, coronary disease, and right and left ventricular
failure are provided.
"Practical Cardiovascular Hemodynamics" also includes case-based
and tracingbased self-assessment problems. e reader will learn to
identify disease states and waveform subtleties from single
tracings or from case studies and will increase skills in
interpreting tracings, understanding notches and artifacts, and
formulating a diagnosis.
"Practical Cardiovascular Hemodynamics" Features: Complete
presentation of basic and advanced hemodynamics Numerous case
studies allow the reader to learn real-life application of
hemodynamic data in clinical decision making Questions and

The 19th Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF) listed five
priorities in the 2008 Air Force Strategic Plan, the second of
which is to "Partner with the Joint and Coalition team to win
today's fight." To identify priority areas to improve supporting
the Joint team, the CSAF Executive Action Group surveyed all
Combatant Commanders, their Air Component Commanders, and several
senior Air Force mentors. The surveys did not include members of
Coalition teams leading to this study being focused solely on Joint
Partnering. The comments from the survey concluded that trust may
be the most fundamental issue requiring attention between the Air
Force and the Joint team. To fully understand the issue, this study
discusses the factors that have been shown to contribute to the
development of trust, how the Air Force can best increase trust and
use it as a mechanism to increase combat effectiveness with the
Joint team. Because trust is difficult if not impossible to
quantify, understanding its components allows a more comprehensive
analysis. The "Cycle of Trust" concept introduced in this paper
emphasizes the need to address all individual components of the
problem before trust can be realized. Finally, the authors apply
trust theories to the specific task of increasing trust within the
Joint team. The recommendations provided are informed by a year of
dedicated study and many years of experience on the part of the
interviewees.
Eight times every year the Federal Reserve holds a meeting. At the
conclusion of that meeting they may announce policy changes and
provide their outlook on the economy. On Wall St. these
announcements are often highly anticipated. For years traders have
tried to game the Fed announcement. The Quantifiable Edges Guide To
Fed Days shows in great detail the historical tendencies
surrounding these events. From prior to the Fed Day, to action on
that day, to the days following, Rob Hanna shows where the greatest
trading edges lie through detailed historical analysis. This guide
goes far beyond any previously published Fed Day associated work in
the Quantifiable Edges blog or subscriber letters. In addition to
Rob's detailed analysis there is also a special section on Fed Day
gap trading by Master the Gap President, Scott Andrews. Further,
the epilogue by Tom McClellan of McClellan Financial Publications
provides readers additional insight into the history and evolution
of these edges.
