Feminist Political Ecology explores the gendered relations of ecologies, economies and politics in communities as diverse as the rubbertappers in the rainforests of Brazil to activist groups fighting racism in New York City. developed and the developing worlds. Women are often at the centre of these struggles, struggles which concern local knowledge, everyday practice, rights to resources, sustainable development, environmental quality, and social justice. The book bridges the gap between the academic and rural orientation of political ecology and the largely activist and urban focus of environmental justice movements. The aim is to bring together the globalising frameworks of feminist analysis with the specificities of women's activism and experiences around the world.

Powerlessness, marginality, and dispossession are found in all
corners of the world. The aim of this book is to enable
facilitators from inside, as well as outside, communities to
empower those people who are frequently omitted from the
decision-making process.;The book explores participatory approaches
to development and offers innovative, collaborative tools for
working with local groups and communities. The tools described
here, are sensitive to cultural and social differences, and have
been designed to increase the capacities of local communities,
NGOs, and public sector agencies by integrating applied and
analytical methods for consciousness-raising, data-gathering,
community decision-making, advocacy and development activities.;The
book focuses on participatory capacity-building in ways that
address the practical needs and strategic interests of the
disadvantaged and disempowered, and it pays particular attention to
gender issues. Other issues examined by this book include how
differences in class, ethnicity, race, caste, religion, age and
status may also lead to the "politics of exclusion" that this book
aims to avoid.;In addition to being a tool book, the contributors
also address some of the issues raised through working in a
participatory way, such as: the ends and means of participation,
uneven relations of power among participants, temporal context,
spatial scale, and the array of organizations involved.

Das Buch bietet am exemplarischen Beispiel des Nurnberger
Fruhneuhochdeutschen um 1500 eine systematische
historisch-synchrone Darstellung der Adjektivderivation. Die
Untersuchung knupft an die Arbeiten zur substantivischen (Peter O.
Muller) und verbalen Wortbildung (Mechthild Habermann) des
Fruhneuhochdeutschen an und basiert auf einem Textcorpus, das aus
den Schriften dreier Nurnberger Autoren des 15./16. Jahrhunderts
besteht (Albrecht Durer, Veit Dietrich, Heinrich Deichsler).
erkennen.
The course is designed to maximise the performance of school-age
learners. It features eight units covering the core Cambridge
English: First (FCE) for Schools topics, vocabulary, grammar and
the skills needed for all four exam papers. Two teen-inspired
topics in each unit ensure the entire exam syllabus is covered, and
can also act as a basis for CLIL-based extension activities and
projects. Grammar sections and a Grammar Reference help students
build up the accurate language structure necessary for the Use of
English parts of the new Reading and Use of English paper, while
B2-level vocabulary is targeted, drawing on insights from English
Profile, and brought together in a Wordlist based on key vocabulary
from the units. 'Exam tips', and grammar and vocabulary exercises
teach students to avoid common mistakes identified in Cambridge's
unique collection of real exam papers, the Cambridge Learner
Corpus.
