The widespread occurrence of the various forms of arthritis not only results in a great waste of manpower, but also causes immeasurable pain and suffering for the patients. Due to the limited understanding of its etiology, the currently available treatments are directed at the effects of the disease rather than its causes. The solutions available to the clinician at the advanced stages of arthritis are frequently surgical and include prosthetic replacement arthroplasty. Many advances have been made in the last decade in the basic understanding of the kinematics and kinetics of anatomical joints, as well as in the technology of joint replacement. The NATO Advanced Study Institute held in Portugal during June 20-July 1, 1983 addressed these topics and provided instruction on the advances in biomechanics of diarthrodial joints. The proceedings of this Institute are presented in this volume. Many different areas of specialization contribute to the field of joint biomechanics. Due to the complexity of each individual topic, it was not attempted here to present a complete treatise of each of these areas. Each chapter typically gives a review and a flavor of the subject matter, as well as discussing the state-of the-art advances in general or in specific research areas. Some of the chapters, such as those on lubrication and muscle mechanics, are more mathematically oriented than the others. Nevertheless, the reader with a non-engineering background, I trust, would still find most of the book informative and easy to read."

En 1998 con el cambio en la administracion rectoral y cambio en la direccion de la Facultad de Psicologia Campus Poza Rica- Tuxpan, se llevo a cabo un diagnostico preliminar; con base en el cual se implemento un modelo organizacional. Immer mehr Unternehmen aus den unterschiedlichsten Branchen haben es in ihr Marketing ubernommen und damit erreicht, dass gerade in Deutschland neben den USA das Direktmarketing besonders weit entwickelt ist. Statistisch gesehen bekommt jeder Deutsche im Jahr 68 Mailings. Dies ist allerdings im internationalen Vergleich eine relativ geringe und wahrscheinlich noch steigerbare Anzahl, wenn man den mehr als funf Mal so hohen US-amerikanischen Vergleichswert von 350 betrachtet. Um so mehr erstaunt es, dass der in Deutschland durch Direktwerbung generierte Mail-Order-Umsatz mit pro Kopf und Jahr 528 US-Dollar der hochste Wert weltweit ist. Im Vergleich dazu liegen die USA mit 379 US-Dollar nur auf dem zweiten Platz. Neben den klassischen Verwendern von Direktwerbung gesellen sich mehr und mehr andere Branchen hinzu seit einiger Zeit auch die Versicherungsbranche. Der Versicherungsaussendienst sieht das Direktmarketing mitunter sogar als Bedrohung seines Aufgabenbereichs an. Haufig verliert er sukzessive an Kontrolle uber sein Verkaufsgebiet, wenn kleinere Kunden und Interessenten nur noch per Post oder Telefon bedient werden. In Zeiten von standig steigendem Kosten -und Ertragsdruck und der Forderung nach immer effizienterer Nutzung der zur Verfugung stehenden Arbeitszeit, kommt dem Direktmarketing eine wachsende Bedeutung bei der Unterstutzung der vertrieblichen Tatigkeiten des Aussendienstes zu. Dem Mailing kommt in Deutschland von allen Werbemitteln mit etwa einem Drittel aller Direktwerbeaufwendungen die grosste Bedeutung zu. Dieses Instrument bewaltigt nahezu jede Informationsmenge.
